About

Hello!

My name is August. I’m a queer, neurodivergent writer from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I currently live in Tempe, Arizona with my cats, Raspberry and Ophelia. Beyond short fiction, poetry, and essays, I mostly write LGBTQ+ romance novels. I am currently working on a sapphic enemies-to-lovers for fans of Teen Wolf, Jennifer’s Body, and Heated Rivalry. Filmmaking, music, fiber arts, and visual art all interest me as well. I especially love to crochet and make collages. In 2025, I received my MFA in Fiction from Northern Michigan University. Before that, I received my BA and MA from Arizona State University.

I work in alternative education and adore all of my students. As a teacher, I aim to provide a safe space for my students to make mistakes, be unapologetically themselves, and get curious. Community work is another one of my passions; I am an active member of the Phoenix DSA and PSL, volunteer with food pantries across the valley, and would love to find a space to teach free workshops to young writers (please contact me if you are an organization in Arizona looking for a volunteer creative writing instructor).

I am a Leo sun, Capricorn moon, and Sagittarius rising. You will often find me yapping about a bunch of gay stuff, Joe Keery, reality TV, and everything I want to change in the world. Please feel free to contact me about anything, really.
